As a Registered Nurse on 5 Central, you have an opportunity to work on a 28-bed high-acuity, medical-surgical acute care unit that specializes in post-operative care of patients undergoing colorectal, and emergency general surgery. Additionally, you will be part of the interprofessional team caring for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, and hepatobiliary disease. Nurse ratios on 5 Central are 1:4 with a free floating charge. Utilization of cardiac monitoring, capnography, wound management systems and a variety of IV therapy medications (Insulin, heparin, TPN/Lipids, PCAs/Epidurals, lidocaine, ketamine in addition to other standard IV therapy). Partnership with a multidisciplinary team where nursing input is valued. A practice setting with a culture of strong teamwork, low turnover and excellent patient satisfaction scores.
