Fairview Range is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care unit in Hibbing, MN. The RN will deliver direct nursing care to patients as well as indirect care and also is responsible for unit operations for a shift when functioning as charge nurse. The Registered Nurse (RN) works alongside our Hospitalists to provide life-saving treatment to patients who are critically ill or injured. The ICU is adjacent to our Acute Care unit, treating medical/surgical/pediatric patients. Each patient room is equipped with telemed capabilities. Schedule: This position will work 48 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 12-hours working on the day and night shifts. Weekends: Every third weekend. As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will: Perform a total systems assessment according to established policies (including physical, psychosocial and spiritual data) upon admission, as well as ongoing assessments. Demonstrating awareness of age-specific criteria in obtaining assessment data Identifying patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis based on analysis of collected data and incorporating it into an individualized plan of care. Analyzes assessment data, identifies problems and develops the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, significant other and resource personnel. Identifying expected outcomes which are realistic, measurable and attainable. Attending and facilitating discharge planning conferences to promote continued health care and optimal functioning upon discharge. Participates in the interdisciplinary Patient Centered Care conference to promote wellness and optimal discharge plans Providing age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all disciplines according to standards of care. Directing team members in the implementation of care. Utilizing critical care expertise to intervene in emergency situations as warranted. Actively participating on the Rapid Response Team and Code Teams. Recognizing and reports adverse patient condition to the physician in a timely manner. Assessing the patients' response to treatment on identified outcome and revises the plan of care accordingly. Documenting clinical and/or supportive data into the medical record per policy. Provides an environment conducive to patient/family teaching. Identifying patient/family knowledge/skill deficits and teaches accordingly to accommodate the family/patient needs related to illness, age and ability to learn. Identifying alternative resources for education if necessary. Utilizing EPIC patient education materials to effectively educate patients
