About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Women's Health Unit/Mother/Baby at RWJBarnabas Health is a per diem role focused on providing high-quality nursing care to patients within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety, implement evidence-based practices, and manage individual patient care plans. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the unit, particularly in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • NRP certification.
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent/current Mother/Baby experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure safety in practice and adhere to ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Report identified safety issues and medical errors promptly.
  • Supervise and direct the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members.
  • Collaborate with other patient care providers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of patient care and individualize care plans.
  • Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
