The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. The role focuses on patient/family centered care, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. Responsibilities include assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC. The RN will maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment, ensuring patient privacy and demonstrating professional behavior. Active participation in a professional practice model, shared governance, adherence to standards of care, and professional development are essential. The RN will coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services, identify clinical priorities, and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
