About The Position

ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people. The position offers a $30K Commitment Bonus (Full-Time) and is responsible for providing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other standards established by professional groups. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care/practice. The role includes the provision and coordination of nursing care, collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. The nurse will identify interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and document the process. This care includes sensitivity to age-specific and unique needs of the patient/family. The nurse will promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team and collaborate with team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegation of tasks and activities will be governed by the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
