About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Strategically located in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, Intermountain Medical Center opened in 2007 after a decade of planning to replace aging facilities and expand care capabilities. Today, it serves as a Level I Trauma Center and a central hub for advanced healthcare, offering access to a wide range of specialties and cutting-edge resources. Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of Utah (or compact license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• RNs with less than 12 months of RN experience must obtain a BSN within 5 years of their start date
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice.
• Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in acute care, critical care, or women’s services
• 2 years acute RN experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in departments such as Women’s Services, Labor & Delivery, Acute Care, and Intensive Care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care
• Adapt quickly to different clinical environments, patient populations, and unit needs
• Cross-train across multiple specialties (with potential for additional financial incentives)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation to support patient outcomes and team communication
