About The Position

The Registered Nurse, Resource Nurse position at UMass Memorial Health Care is a full-time role focused on delivering and managing patient care from admission to discharge. Requirements

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification is required for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.
• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
• Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.
• Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth and assists in education and development of staff.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
