Monday - Friday, Occasional Weekends-as needed, NO ON-CALL SUMMARY: Will provide nursing supervision pursuant to the Nursing Practice Act exemption as governed by OPWDD to individuals with developmental disabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversight of medical needs; general health and medical management for individuals with developmental disabilities in residential setting as assigned, by visiting and documenting the visit accordingly-must have basic computer skills. Must be familiar with Health Management Care Plan (HMCP)/ Plan of Nursing Services (PONS) Follow-up of health-related issues and coordination with physicians, clinicians, family members and program staff. Provide staff guidance and training for the accomplishment of nursing procedures, tasks, activities and periodic inspection of the actual act of accomplishing the task or activity, including medication administration. Train, supervise and completes annual evaluations of direct care staff performing nursing procedures. Teach OPWDD Medication Administration Course and certify staff as an AMAP in accordance with OPWDD regulations, counsel as necessary. Develop Plan of Nursing Service for assigned individuals; provide guidance to program staff in implementing. OPWDD Training will be provided upon hire. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises the Licensed Practical Nurse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a valid New York State Registered Professional Nursing licensure.
  • One year RN experience required, experience with OPWDD preferred.
