As a crucial member of our dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in General Medicine, delivering exceptional healthcare and making a positive difference in patient outcomes. Our New Grad Residency Program is a 12-month program that supports newly licensed registered nurses (RNs) as they make their initial transition to practice in one of our five medical centers. The program includes a comprehensive, evidence-based clinical orientation and a nursing professional development transition to practice curriculum. Throughout this program, you will have the chance to establish strong and cohesive relationships with fellow participants in your assigned cohort. This supportive environment will encourage emotional connections and mutual growth.

  • Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
  • Provide comprehensive patient-centered care addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs of patients and their families.
  • Ensure a safe and healing environment by maintaining a secure, therapeutic, and healing setting.
  • Communicate efficiently to facilitate information sharing within the care continuum.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by actively engaging in a professional practice model.
  • Advocate for patients in all care settings, ensuring their needs and rights are upheld.
  • Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU and NICU.
  • Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Generous PTO: Accrual of up to 25 days/year.
  • Education Reimbursement: Up to $2,500 per year towards a bachelor's degree and up to $5,000 per year towards a graduate degree.
