About The Position

Overview Shift: Day/Night rotation; 7a-7p/7p-7a; 12-hour shifts; Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation Shift differentials available for qualifying shifts Sign-On Bonus of $10,000 for full time offers Relocation bonus of $10,000 for full time offers if relocating more than 50 miles Provides care for Critically ill patients in a 36 bed mixed critical care unit in a level 1 critical care unit. RN is primary care giver for patients including but not limited to: trauma, open heart, renal, cardiac, pulmonary, general surgery, sepsis and general medical. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers. Requirements

Graduate of accredited nursing program.
Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
Newly licensed nurse within the last six months or less than six months acute RN experience.
Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently , and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act.
Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.
