MAIN FUNCTIONS : To deliver nursing care to adult and geriatric renal patients utilizing the nursing process, according to ANNA Standard of Care. Functions as a professional nurse and delegates patient care to those under his/her supervision. Upon competency validation assumes on call responsibility. WORKING CONDITIONS/ HAZARDS: Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens, Exposure to illness/hazardous chemicals. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Includes standing, pushing wheelchairs, stretchers, lifting, etc. REPORTS TO : Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, Nurse Manager CONTACTS: Patients, Families, Visitors, Physicians and Staff SUPERVISES: Licensed Practical Nurse, Technician, Secretary and other Staff Members

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
  • R.N. Licensure, completes I.V.
  • Current RN license to practice professional nursing in NJ.
  • BLS from AHA certification course as per hospital policy.
  • 1 year Hemodialysis experience within the last 24 months.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Hemo/P.D. experience preferred.
  • Acute Hemodialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • To deliver nursing care to adult and geriatric renal patients utilizing the nursing process, according to ANNA Standard of Care.
