About The Position

Rebound Surgery Center is looking for a relief status Pre/Post Op Registered Nurse. If you are a RN with PACU or same day surgery experience, have good assessment and IV skills, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude, this may be the position for you! Relief status employees are required to avail themselves to Rebound Surgery Center at least 4 shifts every 6 weeks. The need for specific days of the week is at the discretion of the respective manager.  What You Will Do: This position provides direct patient care to surgical patients in the ambulatory surgical care setting. Assesses and prepares patients for surgical procedures and provides discharge education. Provides nursing care of patients of all ages using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Registered Nurses apply knowledge drawn from broad, in-depth education in the social and physical sciences in assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching, and providing nursing care which promotes the patient's optimum health and safety. A wide range of general nursing skill is required. In addition, development of special knowledge and skills appropriate to the specific position is necessary. The goal of perioperative nursing practice is to assist patients and their designated support person(s) with achieving a level of wellness equal to or greater than that which they had before their operative or other invasive procedure.

Requirements

  • Candidates for this position must have availability to work 10 hour variable shifts Monday-Friday.
  • A qualified candidate for this position will have a valid Washington State Nursing License.
  • BLS & ACLS Certification required.
  • 1-2 years of ICU, emergency room, pre or post op experience required.
  • Great multi-tasking skills, highly organized, communication skills, positive attitude with good team building skills.

  • Epic experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to surgical patients in the ambulatory surgical care setting.
  • Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
  • Collect patient health data that is relevant to the operative or invasive procedure.
  • Ensure comprehensive medical history and physical assessment.
  • Start IV and drug administration per orders.
  • Implement physician orders, documenting in patient chart.
