Will act as the hospital resource to the Cardiac Catheterization lab and Intensive Care units and general practice units. Goals of this position include cross training to the cardiac catheterization lab and the Medical Intensive Care unit to be proficient in caring for patients undergoing emergent cardiac catheterization and post catheterization care in the MICU. The RN will be responsible to assist and operate equipment in the Cardiac Catheterization lab which may include from start to finish of the catheterization and to transition the patient's care to the MICU. Care of emergent cardiac catheterization patients will be the number one priority. Job duties when not caring for cardiac catheterization patients will include responding to Rapid Response call and Code Blue calls. When available, will also assist in transport of critical care patients from the ED to the ICUs or GPUs to ICUs, as well as accompanying ICU patients off the unit to tests/procedures. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with difficult IV starts/blood draws, assisting with admissions in all IPD areas, and assisting with ICU bedside procedures. Reports to the House Manager.
