About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced nurses to join their team and collaborate with top medical professionals. At IU Health, nurses are encouraged to learn and develop their careers, advancing healthcare and delivering the highest level of patient care. The organization supports personal and professional goals, offering opportunities to develop clinical expertise, explore diverse career paths, embrace learning, cultivate new relationships, and fuel a spirit of inquiry. The specific role is on Ball Memorial’s adult progressive care unit, an 18-bed unit specializing in care for patients transitioning from progressive to medical levels. Common diagnoses include pulmonary edema, respiratory failure, GI hemorrhage, heart failure, sepsis, stroke, respiratory system diagnosis with chronic ventilator support, and renal failure. The unit utilizes an innovative Team-Based Acuity Adaptable Model (TBAAM) and features a dedicated interdisciplinary team including skilled nurses, patient care assistants, a unit secretary, an RN case manager, a geographically placed physician, a pharmacist, and a dietician. Interdisciplinary rounding is a cornerstone of their communication strategy, fostering collaboration between nursing, patients, and families to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Nurses on this unit are ACLS and NIH certified and are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, creating a supportive and efficient work environment. The unit focuses on a healthy work environment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and quality patient outcomes, with notable progress in minimizing patient harm and numerous Daisy Award recognitions for compassionate care.
