About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips is responsible for providing specialized care to patients who are stable but require more monitoring than can be provided in a standard care unit. The PCU is a 48-bed unit that caters to post-surgical patients, respiratory patients, and those with chronic illnesses. The role involves assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure effective patient management. The position requires a commitment to patient advocacy and respect for diversity among team members and patients.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• 1+ year of RN experience.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop/revise individualized care plans.
• Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes.
• Build respectful relationships with team members and customers.
• Function as a patient and family advocate.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for age-appropriate care.
• Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
• Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Serve as a role model for staff and support hospital and nursing department goals.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan.
