Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
  • 3 years of clinical nursing experience with 1-2 years of brain and spine experience and 1 year of bariatric or related experience required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

Responsibilities

  • Direct management of the "Program" and coordination of all services and inpatient and outpatient departments that interact with brain and spine surgery patients including outpatient testing/education, day of surgery, operating room, recovery room, the neuro inpatient unit, inpatient and outpatient PT/OT services, home health, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule and implement care of the bariatric patient through all phases of obesity treatment including workup, surgery, recovery, and readmission.
  • Develop, manage and implement short and long term goals for all areas related to the brain and spine programs in conjunction with the Medical Director(s) of the brain and spine, and bariatric committees.
  • In conjunction with Medical Director(s) and Hospital Administration, develop a community outreach and programmatic development plan.
  • Collaborate with department leader in reviewing staff performance and compliance with policies, procedures, documentation guides, and standards of care.
  • Develop, recommend and administer policies, procedures, and standards of care. Responsible for mandatory reporting of any incident or serious event affecting or potentially affecting patient care in all programs.
  • Responsible for patient satisfaction of brain and spine, and bariatric surgery patients.
