Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Texas or Multi-State Compact License.
• 1 year of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise, and be accountable for safe nursing care of patients in the nursery department.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and maintain good relationships with peers and healthcare teams.
• Prioritize work and duties effectively, especially under stressful situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
• Accountable for direct patient care, applying nursing processes, and evaluating outcomes for neonates with medical and surgical conditions.
• Participate in the discharge planning process and ensure cost containment.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and per policy recommendations.
• Delegate patient care tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff based on patient needs and staff qualifications.
• Engage in Performance Improvement activities.
