About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Mental Health Cooperative (MHC) is a part-time role focused on supporting the treatment of individuals with severe mental illness. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide care, advocate for consumers, and ensure the smooth implementation of medication orders. Requirements

  • Valid Tennessee Registered Nurse license
  • Phlebotomy skills and ability to give injections
  • Cross-train in all areas of Medical Operations
  • Valid Tennessee Driver's License
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation
  • Personal Automobile Insurance

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for consumers and participate in ongoing evaluation of consumer's progress towards treatment goals within the clinic setting.
  • Maintain accurate consumer records for the implementation of medication orders, including ordering prescribed medications from pharmacies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings as required.
  • Provide general guidance and health education to individual consumers and family members.
  • Complete clinical documentation promptly and consistently with agency standards.
  • Conduct assessments with consumers in various settings to provide continuity of care.
  • Provide nursing coverage for other clinic locations and departments on a PRN basis.
  • Work collaboratively with community providers to address medical and treatment needs.
  • Comply with applicable regulations, laws, and agency policies.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations.
  • Obtain releases from other healthcare providers as needed for consumer care.
  • Complete prior authorizations and attestations for treatment medications.
  • Perform rescue functions during emergencies, including administering basic emergency medical aid.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrate professional demeanor in all settings and proficiency in lab tests and injections.
  • Make customer service a priority with internal and external customers.
  • Follow up with consumers regarding lab results as outlined in company procedures.
