Under the direction of the Director and Team Leader the registered nurse will assess, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice. Job duties will include the following: Prepare patient, family member and/or significant other for procedure by educating on preoperative requirements, confirms planned procedure and answers questions Admit patient to the preoperative area, assesses patient and prepares the patient for surgery and/or planned procedure Receive and monitor patient’s condition post procedure Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence from anesthesia Educate patients, family member and/or significant other by instructing them about procedure, medications, physician’s discharge orders and their continued care after discharge Other duties as assigned Work schedule: This is a .8 FTE (64 hours/2 weeks) 8 hour shifts starting anytime between 5:30 am and 11:00 am. No nights, weekends, or holidays expected.
