About The Position

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at The Surgery Center of Chevy Chase is responsible for providing continuous, high-quality nursing care to all patients. This includes the ongoing evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout their care. The role may involve assisting physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and utilizing sterile techniques when appropriate. A key aspect of the position is delivering total comprehensive patient care to individuals recovering from general anesthesia and/or sedation, encompassing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of both the patient and their family in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
Active RN license in the state
BLS and ACLS Required
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

PALS if required by the center
2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
