As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a PRN PreOp PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our PreOp/PACU team. As a PreOp/PACU RN at Gastro One, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients throughout their surgical journey. You will collaborate closely with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and maintain the highest standards of patient safety.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of TN
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong IV skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures by conducting thorough assessments and obtaining medical histories.
- Administer medications and provide preoperative education to patients and their families.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during the preoperative phase.
- Assist with the transition of patients to the operating room.
- Provide post-anesthesia care in the PACU, including monitoring vital signs, pain management, and assessing patients' readiness for discharge.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a seamless patient care experience.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain patient records.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
