About The Position

Pre-Surgical Testing (PST), part of our Surgical Services team, is a group of nurses that care for patients of all ages scheduled for surgical, invasive, and non-invasive procedures requiring anesthesia. Electronic Medical Records are used to retrieve documents and results prior to surgery as well as perform telephone interviews with patients. As a Presurgical Testing Nurse, you are responsible for performing preoperative assessment on patients prior to surgery. You will examine patient records and identify any risks or potential complications that may arise during the operation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
  • Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition and monitor vital signs before, during, and after surgeries.
  • Administer medications and perform wound care as necessary.
  • Provide educational resources to patients about pre-surgical testing and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare providers to ensure patient safety is always maintained.
