About The Position

At Central States Pain Clinic (CSP), we provide advanced interventional pain care across West Des Moines and Ankeny. Our multidisciplinary team specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided techniques to treat a wide range of chronic pain conditions with precision and compassion. Here, you’ll work in a professional and supportive environment where collaboration, growth, and patient outcomes are always the priority. As a key member of the surgical team, you will assess, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care throughout the perioperative experience. You will play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical intervention while ensuring care aligns with established policies, procedures, and clinical pathways.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience as a nurse in the OR and/or post-anesthesia care unit
  • We will accept new graduates
  • Associate’s Degree required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required
  • BLS certification required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive experience measuring and interpreting vital signs and levels of consciousness
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices in patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and control multidisciplinary activities to maintain a safe surgical environment
  • Accept accountability for the clinical care of assigned patients, including supervision of nonprofessional personnel
  • Support nursing care standards through adherence to established policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Obtain and document comprehensive nursing histories
  • Perform patient assessments demonstrating knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Record and monitor vital signs; identify changes and pursue further investigation as needed
  • Identify abnormal diagnostic data and report findings appropriately
  • Develop and review individualized care plans prior to end of duty time
  • Incorporate patients and families into care planning, goal setting, and priority establishment
  • Use care plans as the foundation for safe and therapeutic patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and care team members
  • Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing care in medical records
  • Utilize the nursing process in all aspects of care delivery
  • Maintain professional growth through current reading, educational programs, and unit conferences
