About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Pre-Op/Post-Op/PACU at Bronson Battle Creek is responsible for managing the care delivery for patients throughout their stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge. This includes utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation, and evaluation; coordinating care with other professionals; delegating tasks; providing physical care; and documenting patient responses. The role requires competencies specific to the population served and adherence to the Michigan Public Health Code.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, must obtain within 8 years of hire.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan.
  • BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
  • Current driver's license in the state of Michigan and proof of insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical care or ALS certification may be required for some RNs.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire for specific departments.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification for Labor & Delivery RNs within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Manage care delivery for patients throughout their length of stay.
  • Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate care provided by other professionals.
  • Delegate selected acts, tasks, or functions within the scope of professional nursing practice.
  • Provide selected aspects of physical care based on patient acuity and complexity.
  • Document and communicate patient responses to care provided.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practice and participate in ongoing educational activities.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and other health disciplines.
