About The Position

The Registered Nurse Pre-Op/PACU position is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients before and after surgery. This role involves holistic preparation for surgery, including pre-operative education and addressing psychosocial needs, as well as post-operative care and stabilization. The nurse will coordinate necessary lab work, perform patient assessments, document medical records, and ensure patient safety throughout the process.

Requirements

• Pre-Operative/PACU experience (Preferred)
• BLS Certification (Required)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient's admission and pre-operative care.
• Coordinate pre-operative lab work and document results.
• Provide post-operative care and stabilization for patients.
• Perform continual patient assessments and report findings to the anesthesiologist, supervisor, or surgeon.
• Document actions in the medical record accurately and timely.
• Act as discharge nurse, providing thorough discharge education.
• Supervise and direct non-professional personnel as delegated.
• Utilize equipment and supplies effectively and assist with stocking and preparation.
• Participate as a team member in planning and implementation of patient care.
• Maintain good attendance and flexibility in scheduling.
