About The Position

Horizon Surgery Center South located on the Baptist Medical Center South campus is an ambulatory surgery center in Jacksonville, Florida, focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered outpatient care. This center provides Orthopedics, ENT, Plastics and Urology surgeries (2OR) and procedures (2PR). The Registered Nurse (RN) supports pre-op, PACU, and stepdown patient care. This position is responsible for assessing patients, delivering individualized nursing care, monitoring recovery, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient procedures and optimal outcomes.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent; one year of Pre-op/PACU experience
• Current RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows environment)

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in perioperative settings
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes during recovery
• Document accurately and communicate effectively with team members and patients
• Maintain sterile environments and adhere to safety protocols
• Support patient education and post-op instructions
