The Postpartum unit at IU Health Bloomington is part of Perinatal & Pediatric Services, featuring 24 private rooms and an average 1:3 couplet nurse-to-patient ratio, while also caring for low-risk antepartum patients. Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN)
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may be considered for candidates with more than two years of acute care experience, subject to CNO review and approval)
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
