IU North’s Post-Surgical unit, 5C, is a 31 bed post-surgical inpatient and 10 bed medical overflow unit. We are a fast-paced and specialized area that supports high volumes of surgical patients. Our nurses provide compassionate, specialized care to a variety of surgical patient populations including urological, gynecological, urogynecological, orthopedic, thyroid, bariatric and several others. As a Registered Nurse you will work in collaboration with the hospitalist team, PT/OT, case management, patient/family liaison, and multiple other disciplines to ensure our patients are receiving excellent care.

Requirements

• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
