About The Position

The RN Plastic Surgery role at Prevea plays a crucial role as an integral member of our clinic team, delivering patient-centered care. They provide patient care, educate patients and their families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. The Registered Nurse III primarily provides direct patient care in areas/specialties that require specialized certifications. The Registered Nurse III is accountable for the delivery of exceptional and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and Prevea's policies. Through collaborative practice with members of the Prevea team, they are responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by Prevea.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited and approved Nursing program Required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, clinical practices, and patient care standards.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple specialties and work effectively across a variety of clinic environments.
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard clinical documentation practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive patient and team relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license (or compact equivalent; nurses must maintain or update their primary state of residence to Wisconsin to ensure continued eligibility under the compact) Upon Hire Required
  • CPR/BLS - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program Upon Hire Required
  • Current certification as a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) Upon Hire Required
  • Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be required depending on specialty area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care which includes, but is not limited to the rooming of patients, obtaining medical information, performing comprehensive initial patient assessment and reassessment pertinent to specialty area of practice, assist with clinic performed procedures, administer medications and monitor for reactions of side effects, and maintains patient chart/records.
  • Follow nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Communicates information with patients, physician, advanced practice providers, and staff to ensure quality of continuity of care.
  • Assists the physician or advanced practiced provider with procedures, notes their instructions/orders and makes necessary arrangement to ensure that they are carried out.
  • Communicate relevant clinical information to the care team, physicians, and/or advanced practice providers to optimize patient outcomes. Triages patient, family, external provider, or affiliate staff's concerns/inquiries.
  • Manages patient/family health concerns through telephone triage. Actively seeks information to understand patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.
  • Facilitates caller's access to appropriate level of care by assessing needs and offering clinical options using medical judgment within scope of licensure. May also refer to health care providers, services and community resources.
