About The Position

The Registered Nurse position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) involves providing care for critically ill children. The role requires the nurse to work rotating shifts, including day and night shifts, each consisting of 12-hour work periods. The nurse will be responsible for managing a variety of patient diagnoses, including respiratory distress, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), seizures, and pain management. Additionally, the nurse will perform special procedures such as moderate sedation, administering drips, and managing arterial and central lines.

Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years of nursing experience.
• BCLS certification.
• PALS certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with first-time travel assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Float to NICU and PEDs as needed.
• Manage patient diagnoses including respiratory distress, DKA, seizures, and pain management.
• Perform special procedures such as moderate sedation, drips, arterial lines, and central lines.
