About The Position

The Cardiac Cath Lab at TriHealth Bethesda North is a crucial part of the TriHealth Heart Hospital and cardiac program, specializing in providing fast-paced, high-acuity care for the cardiovascular patient population. TriHealth is Ohio’s only alliance with Cleveland Clinic Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic Institute, recognized as a world leader in cardiovascular care. Our procedural labs manage a high volume of diagnostic and interventional procedures related to heart conditions daily. Procedures performed at Bethesda North include high-risk coronary intervention, chronic total occlusions, heart failure treatment, placement of mechanical support devices, and structural heart procedures such as transfemoral aortic valve replacements. We also operate a busy, 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, 365-day-a-year STEMI program, delivering high-quality care that exceeds national benchmarks. This position applies the nursing process in providing direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families, collaborating with physicians and other health care team members in meeting the patient's needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required)
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire (Required)
  • Up to 1 year Clinical in Nursing experience (Required)
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle.
  • Registered Nurse Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates organizational responsibilities and identifies areas for self-improvement through self-assessment and peer review.
  • Functions in roles and provides leadership on the unit as needed and requested.
  • Cooperates with instructor to facilitate learning experiences for students.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and is supportive of organizational and unit changes.
  • Supports organizational activities by participating in activities such as committees, staff meetings, councils.
  • Utilizes chain of command appropriately.
  • Builds collegial relationships with physicians and other health team members.
  • Demonstrates autonomy in identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Evaluates the plan of care for patient based on optimal specific patient outcomes.
  • Documents the patient/family response to care including teaching.
  • Collaborates with the patient/family and with other members of the health care team, including physicians, to revise plan of care as needed.
  • Supervises the care that was delegated to other health care team members.
  • Implements plan of care for patient, providing a safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Acts as a patient advocate and delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity.
  • Recognizes emergency situations, notifies appropriate personnel, and begins emergency measures.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family, documenting ongoing assessment per unit/TriHealth guidelines.
  • Safely administers medications/treatments and monitors their effects.
  • Plans care for patient and family based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes.
