About The Position

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Perianesthesia/PACU RN to join our Perianesthesia team! The RN – Perianesthesia/PACU position manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel. This position is to work throughout Perianesthesia Department, to include Pre-Procedure Assessment, Pre-op, Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Recovery. Breaks are important to our team, and we have a lactation room in the department. We also hold regular team recognition events, workgroups/interdisciplinary collaboration, monthly educational offerings, and provide a yearly bonus for certification. Additionally, we have Nursing Grand Rounds.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of Associate degree/Diploma in Nursing required.
• ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Center or Hospital PACU experience required within the last five years.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
• Must have ACLS on start date.
• Must have PALS within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• CPAN or CAPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the episode of patient care in partnership with patients, caregivers, and other providers.
• Deliver safe, quality health care through direct care or by coordinating and supervising care delegated to Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed personnel.
• Work throughout the Perianesthesia Department, including Pre-Procedure Assessment, Pre-op, Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Recovery.
