Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the preoperative and postoperative units. The Perianesthesia RN is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in the Surgery Department, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. This position is responsible for accurately and safely administering sedation/analgesia, monitoring patients' responses, ensuring patient safety during procedure and documenting according to policy & procedure. Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; 1 year through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. The RN demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served in Surgery Department.
