About The Position
The Registered Nurse position in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT at UCSF Health involves utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe and therapeutic care to pediatric patients. The role requires functioning as a member of both the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carrying out established nursing procedures, and performing related duties as required. The nurse will provide care for patients with complex needs, often requiring assistance and supervision, and will assist in managing patient care administered by other nursing team members. This position is situated in the Pediatric Hematology Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant unit (C6) at UCSF - Benioff Children's Hospital, which specializes in treating pediatric patients with hematological and oncological conditions, as well as those undergoing bone marrow transplants. The unit is equipped to provide a variety of treatment modalities, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, gene therapy, and palliative care, with patient acuity levels ranging from high to moderate. The nurse will work in a dynamic environment with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1 to 4:1, ensuring high-quality care and support for patients and their families.
