About The Position

We are recruiting for a motivated Registered Nurse Pediatric ED 9-month position to join our team! We are here for life’s journey. Where is your life journey taking you? Department Pediatric Emergency Department Pediatric Emergency Department and Urgent Care is a fast-paced environment providing high quality care to pediatric patients. We are uniquely equipped to treat all levels of injuries and illnesses from earaches to major traumas. We are the only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in the Denver Metro Area. Staffed with all levels of pediatric providers and experienced nurses, it is a great environment to grow the skills of new nurses. We are an essential link in the pediatric chain of care and work closely with both our inpatient pediatric and ICU teams and community pediatric care centers.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Required
  • Less than 1 year of work experience; one year experience in a direct patient care setting preferred
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
  • RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required

Responsibilities

  • Assess the needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
  • Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient’s condition and vital signs
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient’s responses and conditions
  • Develop and modify patient care plans as indicated by patient’s responses and conditions
  • Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations and treatments
  • Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity
  • Direct and supervise less skilled nursing/health care personnel
  • Instruct individuals and families on health education and disease prevention and after care
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients
  • Medication administration, documentation and reassessment
  • Promote positive patient experience
