About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity pediatric critical care environment in Houston, Texas. This role focuses on caring for critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative cardiac conditions. Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Pediatric ICU experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within required timeframe).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within required timeframe).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (within required timeframe).
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); enrollment in BSN program required if not already obtained.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • CCRN certification.
  • Prior experience in a pediatric cardiac ICU or children’s hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and post-cardiac surgery needs.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individualized, family-centered plans of care.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and developmentally appropriate care environment.
  • Monitor complex cardiac patients, interpret hemodynamic data, and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Incorporate patient and family education into all aspects of care delivery.
