About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functi including In Basket and Pool management, to support timely, safe, and effective care delivery. ons as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Under general supervision, guided by the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the physician staff and administrative management, the Pediatric Neurology Nurse works independently to coordinate the clinical care for Pediatric Brain Center clinic patients. The Pediatric Neurology Nurse will utilize a high level of clinical knowledge to screen patient referrals, coordinate patient evaluations to ensure efficient patient care flow, provide patient education, and improve health literacy and adherence to the treatment plan. The nurse serves as a clinical liaison between families, providers, inpatient teams, and external partners to ensure continuity of care across settings. Requirements

  • BSN from accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum of five (5) years of RN clinical employment experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with pediatric neurology nursing, care coordination, pediatric ambulatory practice, discharge planning, or case management experience within the past 5 years.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and professional conduct.
  • Computer literate (esp. MS Word, Outlook, and internet use) and experience with EHRs
  • Efficient In Basket and Pool management skills to support timely, safe, and effective care delivery.
  • High level organizational skills, proficiency in meeting deadlines, ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence including effective leadership, teaching, and communication skills or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current healthcare AHA provider CPR certification
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
