About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to individuals with complex and chronic conditions. This temporary position requires a compassionate and detail-oriented nurse who can perform comprehensive assessments, develop personalized care plans, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. The role emphasizes strong critical thinking and communication skills to educate patients and their families about treatment plans and follow-up care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in critical care or progressive care.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in electronic health records systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments for patients in the PCU.
• Monitor and document vital signs and symptoms regularly, reporting any significant changes.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician's orders.
• Educate patients and families about medication use and potential side effects.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Teach patients about their conditions and self-care strategies for recovery.
• Work closely with doctors, therapists, and other nursing staff.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient progress and care plans.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
