About The Position

Pathways is a 16-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit. Elliot Behavioral Health Services is staffed by a team of mental health professionals who tailor both evaluation and treatment services to each individual patient. These patients with persistent mental health illnesses are admitted voluntarily or involuntarily for 5-14 days. Our state-of-the-art units provide a wide array of equipment and patient acuity depending on a nurse’s professional interests, certifications, and experience level. The Registered Nurse on Pathways delivers care for patients with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. This includes de-escalation and crisis management under the supervision of providers. The role also involves creating a therapeutic and caring environment for patients and families. There is an option to cross train on PEP.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN)
• Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment
• Aggression de-escalation training approved by EHS

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

• Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
• Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
• Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
• Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.
