JOB DUTIES Assists the Manager in establishing the short and long-term goals of the Pain Center. Provides input to Manager in performance management of staff. Reflected by performance appraisals Coordinates staffing to meet needs and provide adequate coverage of Unit. As evidence by staffing patterns and schedules Acts on identified problems and/or situations to provide feedback and input for problem resolutions. As documented on appropriate records Promotes an environment in which the patient care team can work cooperatively toward objectives. Objectives are met through cooperation. Seeks assistance from appropriate resource person as necessary in solving clinical and management problems. Assists in solving problems. Clinical and Management problems are identified and solved. Assists with the coordination and direction of functions and activities in the Pain Center. Participates and involves Staff in Unit QI Provides patient care by using professional skills and judgments as required. Confer with staff about patient's record. Documentation is present on patient's record. Ensures that patient care is provided according to policy, procedure, patient care standards, on his/her unit. Ensures that care is documented accurately on patient record and plan of care and confidentiality maintained. Documentation exits on appropriate record Assists Manager and coordinates clinical functions. Demonstrates cost conscious use of supplies and ensures that equipment and the facility is maintained in optimum condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff. Assumes responsibility for unit fiscal management and unit staffing. Demonstrates responsibility for containment of hospital cost and equipment maintenance. Evidence of responsible unit fiscal management through the budget process. Functions as a resource person regarding policies and procedures of MMC. Interaction and guidance of staff in making independent decision. Maintains records, reports and statistics for administrative purposes and budget preparation as needed. As evidenced by the records and reports. Performs other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel as may be required. Assignments are completed in a timely fashion. Considers limitation of patient and takes measures to protect them. Utilizes appropriate hand out materials for reinforcement. Involves both patient and caregivers to be included in care. Consults Social Services for questions concerning home care. Demonstrates the ability to provide age specific dietary considerations. Makes appropriate dietary referrals when indicated.
