About The Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) This position is PRN for our overnight/extended stay. Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort during the recovery process.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Previous experience in PACU, critical care, or similar nursing environment is an advantage.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
Excellent patient care and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
Consistent and Predictable attendance

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in PACU, critical care, or similar nursing environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-anesthesia.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
Assess patients' recovery progress and respond to any complications or emergencies.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care.
Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients.
