Position Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Reports to the Director of Surgery. Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present; may involve contact with patients, blood, body fluids, or specimens.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required (current RN license
  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire
  • Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
