About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides high-quality, safe, and cost-effective nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia. This role involves coordinating and integrating patient care, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and utilizing evidence-based practices. The RN is responsible for documenting care accurately and timely in the electronic health record and must demonstrate competencies specific to the unit.

Requirements

• Current Florida RN license
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• 1-2 years of critical care experience
• 1 year of med-surgical nursing experience
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Basic EKG course required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• 1 year of post-anesthesia experience preferred
• CPAN certification preferred
• Membership in a local professional specialty organization preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide total nursing care to patients in the PACU using the nursing process.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the needs of patients and their families.
• Direct care according to established safety standards and risk management protocols.
• Utilize evidence-based practices in accordance with professional standards.
• Document care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Review orders and test results to ensure appropriate patient care.
• Participate in ongoing education and competency assessments specific to the unit.
