About The Position

As a Registered Nurse, the primary responsibilities would involve providing care and support to clients who are undergoing treatment for substance use and/or mental health disorders. The role of the RN is crucial in helping clients through the recovery process and ensuring their well-being.

Requirements

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Science or Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License valid in Ohio
  • CPR/BLS certification required, will train upon hire.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, be 21 years or older, and be deemed insurable through Team Recovery's insurance carrier.
  • 2 or more years working in addiction recovery and/or behavioral health.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Monitoring:
  • Conduct initial assessments of clients to determine their physical and mental health status, including evaluating their substance abuse history and any co-occurring conditions.
  • Monitor clients throughout their treatment to assess their progress and address any issues that may arise.
  • Assess clients in an individual or group setting who are experiencing active withdrawal while providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assess clients in the community as requested.
  • Medication Administration:
  • Administer medications as prescribed by medical providers in an outpatient setting.
  • Client Education:
  • Provide education to clients and their families about addiction, recovery, and mental health treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Teach clients about medication management, coping skills, and strategies for relapse prevention.
  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team:
  • Work closely with medical providers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • Crisis Intervention:
  • Respond to emergencies and crises such as code blue, overdose situations, or clients experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms.
  • Provide immediate medical care and interventions to stabilize clients and ensure their safety.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including client assessments, treatment plans, medication administration records, and progress notes.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to client confidentiality and record-keeping.
  • Support for Clients and Families:
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to clients and their families throughout the recovery process.
  • Help clients develop coping skills, set goals for recovery, and navigate challenges they may face during treatment.
  • Advocacy and Referrals:
  • Advocate for clients' needs and collaborate with community resources to provide comprehensive care.
  • Make referrals to external healthcare providers, support groups, or social services as needed to support long-term recovery.
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance:
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance client care and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in addiction and mental health treatment.

  • Other duties within the medical department as assigned.
