REGISTERED NURSE - ORTHOPEDIC SPINE UNIT - 36 HOURS WEEKLY - NIGHT SHIFT Sign On Bonus: Up to $10,000 Full Time Benefit Eligible Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week GENERAL SUMMARY Meet the Unit Manager! Unit Description: Henry Ford St John Hospital's 7 North unit is a 33-bed unit consisting of orthopedic & neurosurgery patients. Our unit is fast paced: we handle postoperative care for approximately 3-12 surgeries on a daily basis. We also take overflow med/surg patients, and some telemetry patients. The team typically consists of 7-8 RNs and 3 PCTs daily. Day shift RNs typically have a patient ratio of 3-4 patient to 1; night shift RNs typically have a patient ratio of 4-6 patients per nurse. Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Requirements

  • BSN preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
