About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at UCSF Health focuses on providing safe and therapeutic care in the perioperative environment. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including anesthesiologists, surgeons, and surgical technicians, to ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices in the operating room. This role requires knowledge of aseptic techniques and experience in both circulating and scrubbing practices within an outpatient surgery center.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working in a freestanding ambulatory surgery center.
• 2+ years of orthopaedic Operating Room experience.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current healthcare provider AHA CPR certification (BLS).

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process in the perioperative environment, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere to AORN, SCIP, and National Patient Safety Goals, as well as Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique and perform circulating and scrubbing duties in the operating room.
