Registered Nurse OR (FT)
About The Position
As an OR Nurse you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient orthopaedic surgery procedures. You are able to maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room, while providing care to patients before, during, and after surgery. You will perform thorough patient assessments required by the outpatient setting. C ollaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and assist with the preparation and maintenance of the operating room. You will be on your feet for extended periods of time that may seem unnatural. You are able to communicative effectively and efficiently with team members, supervisors and physicians. You are able to work the hours of the position (Monday thru Friday).
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa as a Registered Nurse
- An active BLS Certification
- Must be able to prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Flexibility of hours based on scheduled cases
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle high stress environments and be adaptable to change
- work the hours of the position (Monday thru Friday)
Nice To Haves
- An active ACLS and PALS preferred
- Prior experience working in orthopaedics or an ASC is preferred, but not required
