As a Registered Nurse, you will be an integral member of the surgical team, coordinating patient care across preoperative, intraoperative, and recovery phases. This role blends clinical expertise with collaboration, allowing you to directly impact patient safety, workflow efficiency, and overall care quality in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required
  • BLS certification required
  • At least one (1) year of OR experience required
  • Ability to scrub and circulate required.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices and applicable Nurse Practice Act required
  • Strong patient assessment and vital sign monitoring skills
  • Advanced knowledge of patient care best practices
  • Understanding of surgical protocols and scrub processes
  • Ability to operate C-Arm/fluoroscope (when assigned)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pain management or ophthalmology preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement nursing processes in all aspects of patient care delivery
  • Perform patient assessments with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Record and monitor vital signs, identifying and responding to changes
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and document outcomes in medical records
  • Identify abnormal diagnostic data and communicate findings to the care team
  • Develop, review, and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to establish goals
  • Communicate care plans effectively to ensure continuity between staff
  • Use care plans to deliver safe, therapeutic patient care
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary activities to maintain a safe patient environment
  • Accept accountability for assigned patient care, including supervision of nonprofessional staff
  • Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and clinical standards
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assists surgeons and other medical personnel during operations by providing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Monitors patients’ vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after surgery.
  • Conducts thorough patient assessments to identify potential risks or complications related to surgery.
  • Implements infection control protocols to minimize the risk of postoperative infections.
  • Documents all nursing interventions, patient responses, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
  • Operates C-Arm, fluoroscope, under guidance/in conjunction with the Surgeon.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
