The environment on our unit is friendly, patient-centered, and collaborative with the other members of the interdisciplinary surgical team. We care for adult patients who are being treated for cardiovascular diseases such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, and peripheral vascular disease, as well as lung diseases. Our patients are unique because they are high acuity patients, often turned down for surgery at other medical centers. One of the perks of working on my unit is gaining world-class experience in a vast array of surgical interventions.
