Organization: MOR Cardiac Surgery 20 Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. The environment on our unit is friendly, patient-centered, and collaborative with the other members of the interdisciplinary surgical team. We care for adult patients who are being treated for cardiovascular diseases such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, and peripheral vascular disease, as well as lung diseases. Our patients are unique because they are high acuity patients, often turned down for surgery at other medical centers. One of the perks of working on my unit is gaining world-class experience in a vast array of surgical interventions. Our nurses are successful because they have initiative, critical thinking skills, and care deeply for our patients.   • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
