The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. This role involves collaboration with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The RN must demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, applying appropriate age and population-specific standards in their assigned clinical setting. The nurse cares for patients across all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include the planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions. The position requires adherence to the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.
